The Jamaica Meet-the-People program was developed by the Jamaica Tourist Board over two decades ago. The program is for adults and children. The idea is to pair up visitors with Jamaican program volunteers that will show them around local Jamaica. There are over 700 volunteers in the program and it is also free of cost.

You can sign up for the program via the Jamaica Tourist Board website with your travel dates ahead of time. If you choose, wait until you are in Jamaica and ask for the Jamaica Tourist Board contact at the front desk to schedule a Meet-the-People Get-together.

The organizers of the program do their best to match you up with people who share your interests. The experience is one you may never forget and you may form some lasting friendships too.
